martinvath Posted August 10, 2008 Share #1 Posted August 10, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I´m thinking of changing the focus screen on my EOS 30D, as I find it a little difficult to focus my Leica lenses on it. Does any of You have experiences with either the Haoda or Kats Eye split focus screens? Kind regards Martin

stunsworth Posted August 10, 2008 Share #2 Posted August 10, 2008 I use a Brightscreen with my Canon 5D and it makes focussing a lot easier. Does the 30D have an interchangeable screen?
ammitsboel Posted August 10, 2008 Share #3 Posted August 10, 2008 I use a Brightscreen with my Canon 5D and it makes focussing a lot easier. Does the 30D have an interchangeable screen? Does your brightscreen interfere with the exposure? I've heard that other screens than the canon(A,D,S) can interfere with the 5D's meter, the menu also has exposure settings for the different canon screens. stunsworth Posted August 10, 2008 Share #4 Posted August 10, 2008 Using R lenses on the 5D causes progressive overexposure as you stop down, but it's not too severe and can be controlled by shooting RAW. This appears to be due to the lack of electrical coupling between the camera and lens rather than the focussing screen.
