Advertisement Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Hi rosuna, Take a look here (UN)OFFICIAL photokina PREDICTION THREAD. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
mat_mcdermott Posted September 2, 2008 Share #42 Posted September 2, 2008 Just to cheer the (slightly) increasing value of my currency, but at today's exchange rate that £4000 Noctilux is _only_ $7133, not $8000. Still can't afford it though...
Guest leica_mage Posted September 3, 2008 Share #43 Posted September 3, 2008 Digital-only M lenses would be a big mistake, IMHO. Yes. I'm hoping that Leica come up with something completely off the wall, and unexpected. Something to make us all go "Wow!" That would be radically improved quality control and customer service at Solms, as I've said before. It's the only thing that would really impress me and cheer me up. Because I love Leica. adan Posted September 3, 2008 Author Share #45 Posted September 3, 2008 One down - apparently (except perhaps the price increase)!! "M8.2 [CHECK] - A few updates, including the "upgrades" previously announced: 1/4000th, quieter shutter [CHECK]; sapphire glass LCD cover; more accurate framelines [CHECK], increase in price of about 8-10% Any M8 can be upgraded in part or in whole to 8.2 specs for prices not far off what was already announced. NO new sensor [CHECK]. Firmware (no cost) will allow use of SDHC cards [CHECK] . Note that this is why the "upgrade" was put off until after PK - so it could be coordinated with the new camera, and not interfere with M8.2 (and possible R) production needed for PK release." http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m8-forum/62597-m8-2-a.html
peterv Posted September 3, 2008 Share #46 Posted September 3, 2008 Yeah, it looks like your prediction was quite right. Seems to me you're not far off with the rest either. Congratulations! Peter
LarryM Posted September 4, 2008 Share #47 Posted September 4, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) V-Lux - gone, I think. Sales were pretty good for the first year, better than the Digilux 3, but I think that market has tapered off. Perhaps supporting that supposition, B&H Photo shows Leica to be selling the V-Lux with a $250 rebate from now until the end of the year. Last spring and last month they were offering a $150 rebate. A rebate of $250 brings the US price down to $599 - which is amazing considering the package also includes Photoshop.
AlanG Posted September 4, 2008 Share #48 Posted September 4, 2008 ... A rebate of $250 brings the US price down to $599 - which is amazing considering the package also includes Photoshop. You spurred my interest as that would be quite a deal. But what is listed at B&H is Photoshop Elements 4. Am I misreading something?
