stevelap Posted August 11, 2008 Author Share #41 Posted August 11, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) It wasn't a "public" meeting per-se, but it wasn't an "off the record" evening, either. Herr Daniel knew exactly who he was speaking to, and the nature of this site As I suspected, Andy:) .

spylaw4 Posted August 13, 2008 Share #45 Posted August 13, 2008 We might all find out something a little more concrete on September 15th. I understand that (certainly in the UK) there is an NDA out from Leica for signing which expires on that date.

This wasn't an official press-conference, but we asked many questions to Stefan Daniel and he gave us official answers. Kind regards, Bernd. , By the way Bernd or Andy, was there any mention or discussion of a pre-photokina announcement from Leica at the meeting? September 15th is a date that seems to be floating around at the moment.
andybarton Posted August 14, 2008 Share #50 Posted August 14, 2008 Reading this month's LFI, they seem to be saying that they will have all the news you want to read in next month's issue. My copy arrived yesterday, so I would anticipate that there will be some sort of press conference / release prior to LFI's publictation - otherwise, they will have stolen Leica's thunder. berndr Posted August 14, 2008 Share #51 Posted August 14, 2008 Yes, when I remember right, Mr.Daniel said that there will be an announcement on September 15th. He explained there is a kind of blocking period for photocina news ending on that date. He also pointed out that it might be a good idea to have a look at the leica webpages in the evening of the 14th September Kind regards, Bernd. clw Posted August 14, 2008 Share #59 Posted August 14, 2008 I just re-subscribed to LFI, and i've been waiting for the latest issue. I live in America, and i'm not sure when we get ours...hopefully soon!
veraikon Posted August 14, 2008 Share #60 Posted August 14, 2008 That's hardly surprising with people waiting until Photokina to decide what to do As far as I understand it is more caused by expenses to R&D and investments in infrastructure and machines.
