fuchs Posted August 6, 2008 Share #1 Posted August 6, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone know any darkroom processing software? I mean a program that ideally not only has a database of film/paper processing tables, but also a process stopwatch, a timer and so on? A program that can be used in the darkroom to guide processing? j. white Posted August 6, 2008 Share #2 Posted August 6, 2008 Hi Ed, I don't know of anything that currently exists, but as a standalone app, it would be a pretty easy thing to program. I would be curious to know how widespread an interest there is in such an app. -J.

I had coded ages ago some parts, the programmable process timer, even a dark red and Amber-green screen to use as a safelight. It was the time of Borland TurboPascal then. But I have since switched to Mac, and left programming to more constant folks. I suppose that now, with VB, Delphi, RealBasic, etc it should be a snap. I don't have the time to do it, but will gladly accept to alpha and beta test such a piece of software Ed

andybarton Posted August 7, 2008 Share #5 Posted August 7, 2008 The Massive Dev Chart: B/W Film Development Times, Processing Data, loaded onto your iPhone/iPod is a good start. The iPhone/iPod will also do the timing for you. Just wrap the screen in some red filter cellophane.

Just remember to put the iphone in "Airplane" mode or an unexpected call can play havoc with your workflow.... But a programmable stopwatch/timer would be nice, one that you can set to mark the initial agitation time, x inversions by the minute, when to start pouring out or in the liquids, etc
