Advertisement Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 Hi Bill Zier, Take a look here Pradovit C 1500 repairs. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
santila Posted July 28, 2008 Share #2 Posted July 28, 2008 What seems to be the problem? If need replacement parts then contact Leica, if need adjustment or cleaning, etc. may be you can do it yourself. I am located in WA and do my owns service on the CA2500. Bill Zier Posted July 28, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted July 28, 2008 Unknown - won't feed, advance or remove slides - buzzing noise when pushing advance button. Solenoid? Ex Leica dealer in Eugene owes me a favor, but still couldn;t diagnose. Thanks for your thoughts. Winthrop's a great place!!! Bill
santila Posted July 28, 2008 Share #4 Posted July 28, 2008 Bill, it is hard to diagnose by not seeing it. It is trying to engage and the buzzing noise indicates that it has some resistance. I would say the problems is rather those rails are gummed up. There are six rails, four above and two below. Use Cleanex with normal rubbing alcohol, move the slide changing mechanism back and fort and wipe then re-oil with some sewing machine oil, sparingly! By moving, not forcing the slide change gate should be moving and able to see where it is binding, all these operation without power applied.

Bill Zier Posted July 30, 2008 Author Share #6 Posted July 30, 2008 Thanks for the great idea and the photo, but no luck. The sound or buzz on the switch sounds like the solenoid in my old Ford pickup when the battery is dead, so based on my mechanic's truck advise only, the solenoid is OK. This leaves only the motor, I think. Also, there is no torque or energy at all on the arm that operates the slid mechanism. Thanks again! Another thing I just thought of - the rubber belt on the fan sometimes has to be nudged to begin operating. ???? Bill
