I think that refers to the Silver version. There has to be a lot more of the black ones around, it's been available for some time. For my sins I have a black and silver. The sharpness of the silver at full aperture isn't as good as that of the black one. It's no slouch, but whereas the black will produce strong moire on fine detail at 1.2 the silver one shows very little. So there is noticeable sample to sample variation.
