dkCambridgeshire Posted July 21, 2008 Share #1 Posted July 21, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Recently acquired a 35/1.4 Summilux M c.1970 (S/N 2392558) ... Leica Pocket Book states filter size as E41 , later VII ... so I tried Series VII which was way too big so assumed must be E41 ... saw some used Walz E41 filters advertised in USA so bought the set ...they are Japanese and the boxes state "for Summarit 41 ø " ... the filters have 41mm stamped on them ... But although they are 41mm they do not fit the lens ??? The diameter of the lens front is 41mm ... and there appears to be a thread. The hood is correct ie 12504 and I was wondering if it would hold a series filter onto the lens but there is no way it could. Any ideas? Have I missed out on something obvious? Is the advice in the book correct? Thanks for reading. Cheers dunk

andybarton Posted July 21, 2008 Share #2 Posted July 21, 2008 Dunk I assume that you are aware that the 12504 unscrews... the Series VII filters go in between the two halves.
