freddofrog Posted July 16, 2008 Share #1 Posted July 16, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all Thinking about getting a D-lux 3 but have concerns about how the flash works. It seems like if you want to force the flash on, it has too be with an anti red eye preflash, whether you want it or not. This obviously increases the shutter lag time and also drains batteries. Is there some way you can force the flash to fire without this pre flash, eg update firmware etc? ta Shane

streetshooter Posted July 16, 2008 Share #2 Posted July 16, 2008 I just tested the flash on Forced Flash On...and there was no preflash...it just fires.... Page 43 in the manual....shooter
dorman Posted July 17, 2008 Share #3 Posted July 17, 2008 In Auto mode I think you are right. However in P mode etc if you open the flash then press the right hand cursor button (it has the flash symbol on it) you can then select: Auto Auto/RedEye Forced flash on Slow Sync
freddofrog Posted July 17, 2008 Author Share #4 Posted July 17, 2008 That's good to know. I was playing around with one in the shop but didn't really get the chance to figure out if it was possible to turn it off.
