Yorgos Posted July 15, 2008 Share #1 Posted July 15, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everyone! I bought a V-Lux 1, and it's great. However, in spite of the digital and optical zoom capabilities, the zooming is not enough for very close-up shots. I wonder if there are any lenses--even if it not Leica brand--that I can use to increase my camera's zooming capabilities? Is this V-Lux compatible with some Nikon or Canon lenses? Thanks! Advertisement Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Hi Yorgos, Take a look here Lenses for Leica V-Lux 1. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pleeson Posted July 15, 2008 Share #2 Posted July 15, 2008 Is your question about zoom range or close-up (macro) range? With 12X optical zoom plus digital zoom (cropping), I think bringing distant objects close exceeds the ability to hold the camera still. For macro shots, use macro focusing mode and leave the zoom at 35mm, and you can focus to within a couple of inches.
Yorgos Posted July 17, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted July 17, 2008 Thanks Phil! But what if I use a tripod and still want to use a lenses that allow me to shoot very distant objects? What brand or type of lenses should I look to buy? (I know that Leica doesn't have compatible lenses for the V-Lux.) Cheers!
spylaw4 Posted July 17, 2008 Share #4 Posted July 17, 2008 IIRC there was a thread or two about add-on lenses for the V-lux some time ago. Why not try a forum search?

ja UK Posted July 8, 2009 Share #8 Posted July 8, 2009 Hi everyone! I bought a V-Lux 1, and it's great. I wonder if there are any lenses--even if it not Leica brand--that I can use to increase my camera's zooming capabilities? Is this V-Lux compatible with some Nikon or Canon lenses? Thanks! This camera doesnt have a detachable lens. Try popping into a camera shop with it, to see if you can get a telephoto / macro or wide angle lens adaptor for closer shots. Its a 55mm fit which is a pretty standard lens size
