acanalda Posted July 5, 2008 Share #1 Posted July 5, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi to all, Suddenly the main speed dial of my Leica IIIf became completely "mad". I can turn it even without wounding the shutter. The dial turns but it seems to be "disengadged" The shutter release button works and the shutter operate but I don't know at what speed. Any suggestion? Regards, Arturo

sabears Posted July 5, 2008 Share #2 Posted July 5, 2008 Hi Arturo, something is broken for sure. You have to send the camera to assistance, there is no other way. Cheers,M.
jhild Posted July 6, 2008 Share #3 Posted July 6, 2008 The main speed knob is fixed to the mechnics below with three very small screws, if they have become loose it is possible to turn the knob around with no other effect. Try to check that with a very small screwdriver. If the dial works again find the B setting and then reset the dial(by loosening the screws) to B with the shutter wound on. If that doesn´t work your camera is ready for service. Jo
