nokton_user Posted June 27, 2008 Share #1 Posted June 27, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I just bought used SUMMICRON-M 50/2 serial number 395xxxx. I have a few questions please- 1. The focus ring goes little bit beyond 0.7 (to the left- like towords 0.6) is it normal? 2. when the aperture ring is on 2 or 16 it can turn a bit more of a click and change the aperture – little bit open from 2 or little bit close from 16 (at 16 spot you can't get perfect round aperture like at 16.1. And lets says the aperture goes beyond 2 to 1.97 and beyond 16 to 16.1) is it normal also? if I want to use aperture 2 or 16 how should I aim my aperture- to spot 2 or 16 or little bit beyond? Many Thanks!

doubice Posted June 27, 2008 Share #2 Posted June 27, 2008 Hello, 1) ...is it normal? yes. 2) Normal? Yes. In the real world there is no difference between ' f:1.97' and f:2 or ' f:16.1' and f:16..... Simply set the aperture ring to the desired click stop and shoot away. Guest Bastian A. Posted June 28, 2008 Share #4 Posted June 28, 2008 Both 1 and 2: Normal! (Jan already said it.) It's exactly the same with my Summicron 50. Bastian
