Maybe this will level off the discussion. Gabe Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! pxlpal2 Posted September 26, 2006 Share #42 Posted September 26, 2006 I'd like to add an addendum to my last post. On the last page, called End Frame< of the Sept. 2006 issue of Photo District News (PDN) the story is of a group of pj's who entered Bint Jbeil and Aitarouin, newr Tyre, after an Israeli air strike. They came across a large group of civilians, many elderly and disabled, who were unable to cross the rubble to safety. Photographers Timothy Fadek, Magnum shooters Chris Anderson, Thomas Dworzak and Paolo Pellegrin, Yahoo columnist Kevin Sites, Lebanese shooter Wael Ladki, AP shooter Lefteris Pitarakis, Kai Weidenhofer, and other shooters from Turkey, dropped their cameras and assisted the people out of the rubble. Many were carried on the backs of the photographers and one of the Turkish press collapsed from heat exhaustion. The article ends with," Photographers can achieve more as eyewitnesses than as Good Samaritans...But the compassion captured in these images remind us of what so many photojournalists risk every day, and why." Fadek was quoted as saying," It's a matter of just being human." "You're there to help: it's a no-brainer." Best regards and thanks to the pj's, Frank M.
