M6 TTL honest price?

Regarding the 'extended' EV range on the M6 TTL my view is that it must have some advantage. From the days when I ONLY used Weston Master V's & V1's for metering I always had problems switching ranges. The Hi & Lo range always overlapped, but did not agree. I deduced that presumably because their sensitivity is logarithmic rather than linear, towards the ends of the scale was where they lost accuracy. So I never worked at the end of one scale when I could switch into a 'better' part of another scale.

Back to the M6 V's M6 TTL metering. The M6TTL with the extra 'span' on the EV scale must retaing accuracy for a greater range, even if it is not right to the end, so there is some advantage. The other, and greater variable, is how you use it.;)

Does your friend really need metered flash monitoring? if not then an M6 Classic is fine and will do everything he wants at a better price. I bought one recently from The Classic Camera in London for £799.00 which was a fair price as the camera is in mint condition. I would avoid ebay like the plague for something like this. A dealer will give you some sort of guarantee, in the case of TCC it is 6 months. Servicing on Leica cameras is not cheap so some sort of guarantee is imperative.

A more important consideration is, what lens is he going to buy for his newly acquired body. A good Summicron mint 35mm can cost £895.00 and a 50mm £200.00 less. I know this as I have recently made these purchases.

THanks Kenneth. Makes sense to me...I've forwarded the link to Juan so that he can now make up his mind.
