ASpes Posted June 30, 2008 Share #21 Posted June 30, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am having a problem or two using the camera. 1. Each time I switch on the camera, it defaults to JPEG. This is highly annoying. Is there anyway of changing this? 2. The supplied neck strap keeps the camera slanted on the body....anybody has better contraptions? 3. Bought a lowerpro bag (Altus 160) but the camera does not fit well. Help!!! I'm not sure I understand your questions, anyway I'll try an answer, hoping it makes some sense. If you mean that jpegs are always active when you switch on the camera, that's pretty normal. The problem is that the camera does not save only raw files, but raw+jpeg. If you don't care about jpegs, you can choose the most compressed and the least quality setup for jpegs, just to save on card space. If you mean that raw is disabled again, well, I suggest that you set first all your options and then save them in a custom set. I use mine, one for colour and one for b&w, to instant reset the camera at the beginning of each shooting session or whenever I need it. As for you other questions, usually a neckstrap can be balanced at one end, and for the bag maybe a good local shop could give better options than what you have bought. An interesting one could be the Leica neoprene case that fits the camera like a glove, you just slip it on&off in a sec and tuck it in your pocket. (google it, goes for around £29). As for me, when using the camera as a walk-around, I like to have it in my hand, so I just roll the strap around my wrist, and keep a spare battery and a card in pocket. But of course I need bags when out with a full set ... and the quest for the perfect bag is sometimes like the one for the holy grail. How did I go? :-)

nrs Posted July 1, 2008 Share #23 Posted July 1, 2008 I'd buy a Nikon D200 which is a bargain at the moment or the fujifilm s5pro which is even more of a bargain £500, get a prime lens, stick it on aperture control so it's set up like traditional camera. 4/3 sensor is very noisy above iso 800 & even in shadow areas at lower iso's.
