They should just get on with explaining what you get with a Leica M8 as opposed to an AF DSLR or a P&S. And don't they sell chrome M8s anymore? Jeff I see it as a clever move to get across the *size* of the M8 (small) while also using colorful, common items. It's a "match your lifestyle" thing--lighter for concerts, USB cables for the tech head, razor for "the serious," keys with the strap denoting "active lifestyle," bedspring for the pure "art" angle. . . . Presented cleanly. Has an "appeals to semi-trendy designers" kind of look about it. E.g., the M8 will fit with your lifestyle, which can include any or all of these things. There's a sense of play about it that's high-end and tongue-in-cheek in a fun way. A sure improvement over the previous, sleazy Euro-glam yuck that was the last campaign. And the Rangerfinder simulation? BRILLIANT as a concept. That one is a winner that helps communicate HOW you use the focusing system of the M8. I can point just about anyone over there and they can get the idea in a second or two. The rangefinder demo is really clever and highlights one of the major features of the camera to those prospective purchasers who are unsure of how it works.
