albertwang Posted September 18, 2006 Share #1 Posted September 18, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) The one thing that I really like on the L1/D3 is the ability to switch up aspect ratios. I really dig the idea of shooting 16:9 quite a bit. It works well with full-body portraits and I know that people think that cropping is it but it's not the same due to previsualization actually. Just a thought.
Advertisement Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Hi albertwang, Take a look here I love Digilux 3/L1 panoramic function!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ho_co Posted September 19, 2006 Share #2 Posted September 19, 2006 I have the D-Lux 2 and couldn't agree more. I thought it was an interesting feature but couldn't see much use for it--until I got the camera and actually used it. Now the camera is set to 16:9 almost all the time, and it seems a perfectly natural format. --HC
Riley Posted September 19, 2006 Share #3 Posted September 19, 2006 its a format that has a growing interest I predict there will be cameras that are organised for 16x9 with an LCD that shape etc Riley
albertwang Posted September 19, 2006 Author Share #4 Posted September 19, 2006 In fact, I prefer 16 by 9 for unusual crops. It allows me to be more creative. That's why the L1/D3 combo or even the VLux is attractive. Previsualization is actually 60% of my shooting.
