ragc Posted June 5, 2008 Share #1 Posted June 5, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I read elsewhere in this forum that the 50mm f2.0 Summicron's head could be unscrewed to use with the Visoflex. I have the VSPOO adapter and am curious to try some macro with my collapsible 'Cron and my Visoflex and bellows, but am afraid to force the lens head without verifying that the head can be unscrewed. In the thread I found this information they were discussing a rigid Summicron. Answers?
Advertisement Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 Hi ragc, Take a look here Can the collapsible Summicron head be unscrewed?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bill Posted June 6, 2008 Share #2 Posted June 6, 2008 To the best of my knowledge, it is only the rigid Summicron that can be used in this way, NOT the collapsible. Regards, Bill
brianv Posted June 6, 2008 Share #3 Posted June 6, 2008 The head from the Rigid Summicron can be removed, and there is an adapter for the head to screw into a 39mm mount for the bellows. I'm not too sure about an M-Mount collapsible Summicron, I;ve disassembled one before. It is not a removable head in the sense that the Rigid lens is removable. I've done some close-up work with my LTM collapsible Summicron. It works quite well.
ragc Posted June 6, 2008 Author Share #4 Posted June 6, 2008 Mine's a screwmount collapsible. I guess I'll hang on to the adapter until I find a rigid... I have the 135mm Hektor and it's adapter to play with! Thanks!
Philippe D. Posted June 6, 2008 Share #5 Posted June 6, 2008 Hi. I read elsewhere in this forum that the 50mm f2.0 Summicron's head could be unscrewed to use with the Visoflex. I have the VSPOO adapter and am curious to try some macro with my collapsible 'Cron and my Visoflex and bellows - The VSPOO adapter is of no use on a Visoflex. It is thought for sliding focusing stages. If you want to use your bayonet mount Summicron 50 (collapsible or rigid) on a bellows, look for adapter 16469, or you can use it directly on the camera as a macro device as well with a device called SOMKY-M (+ adapter UOORF for lens head): On a screw mount Leica, use the NOOKY close focus device:

Just use it in collapsed position, or extended. No need to unscrew the head. I've used mine on a Nikon DSLR using a 39mm screw mount to F-Mount adapter.
