Telecentric Posted June 5, 2008 Share #1 Posted June 5, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) On the assumption that Leica are not going to continue developing their Four Thirds offering (and this is indeed just that, an assumption) then I was thinking about the upgrade path for my Digilux 3 once it has lifed out, also assuming that I want to continue with the Four Thirds format (which I do). The current choices would be either the L10 from Panasonic or the E-420, forthcoming E-520 or the E-3 from Olympus. Good cameras all, and I must admit having a hankering for the tiny E-420, but I have come to love the form, function and handling of my Digiliux 3. What I would really like is an upgraded Digilux 3 - a Digilux 4 if you like. New features? Well, an improved autofocus system, a bigger image buffer, greater dynamic range, ability to record RAW only rather than the current RAW + Jpeg, brighter viewfinder, and also a wider range of Leica lenses (especially fast primes). So a plea to Leica - please do not give up on the D-System, nor on the form and function found in the design of the Digilux 3, but keep the faith and don't give up on us your Four Thirds customers either.
