albertwang Posted September 15, 2006 Author Share #2 Posted September 15, 2006 This is a sample shot (crudely adjusted in Microsoft Photo Editor) using this setup. Olympus E-300 plus 35-70mm f4.0 Vario-Elmar-R ISO 1600, 1/125, f8 (Note: This is my first shot with OLIA that I ever posted on this Leica forum. Exciting, d'accord?) Welcome, dear visitor! stunsworth Posted September 15, 2006 Share #3 Posted September 15, 2006 I don't know where to begin. I shall have to take your criticism of Canon's efforts more seriously now. I'm a bit suprised that a 'professional' digital photographer is using Microsoft's Photo Editor - especially since I didn't realise that there was a Mac version of this - we all know Alfies views about PCs. FastFashnReloaded Posted September 16, 2006 Share #6 Posted September 16, 2006 1600asa All stock (kit) base Oly lenses. I expect the Leica / Oly to be better (?). I mean, come ON! People have issues saying that Oly/Panasonic sensors aren't any good maxed out.
gylee Posted September 16, 2006 Share #7 Posted September 16, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Alfie - definitely not plasticy. More pebbly. The picture of the camera itself has a touch of the Nokia's about it. I am no expert on these things though. Could be SonyEricsson.
albertwang Posted September 16, 2006 Author Share #8 Posted September 16, 2006 Picture of OLIA taken with a Sony Clie PDA camera. Basically, it sucks!
vic vic Posted September 30, 2006 Share #9 Posted September 30, 2006 wait wait wait... my god, im f*** freack of leica myself... i love leica etc.... but i simply cannot understand why put leica r lenses on loympus, panasonic or new leica camera with 3/4 format.... i simply dont get it... u have amazing lenses from olympus for this particular cameras.. seriously... i saw the photos from this camera (the e1), not on internet, i mean on real prints. they look great for what it is.... the lenses (olympus, and im sure the leica/panasonic too) are optimized for digi, and for this particular format. they are really not expenssive - a joke in terms of price compared to leica lenses (i suppose r lenses costs more or less like m lenses). u have that great 50mm macron lens on olympus... now, my friend (with his olympus e1) says that there are cool things like new spuer fast zoom lens... he jokes that soon he will be able to photograph like me, without flash with mp camera :-))))).... sorry - i simply dont understand it... what is it - to have leica lenses anyway ???? Guest johann_wolfgang Posted September 30, 2006 Share #11 Posted September 30, 2006 @vic vic: Hi Victor, try do see it from the other side. Having some LEITZ lenses for my R4, it was the cheapest way for digital photographie in buying an Oly E-300 body and an adaptor LR to 4/3". Then I took my old Apo-Telyt 3.4/180 and went downtown f=5.6, ISO 200 Regards
cliffshen Posted October 2, 2006 Share #12 Posted October 2, 2006 I wonder if I use this adapter ring, do I have to down-step to largest aperture to focus first?
Guest johann_wolfgang Posted October 3, 2006 Share #13 Posted October 3, 2006 Hi Clifford, its easier to focus with aperture open - after focussing just turn the aperturering by two or more clicks without taken the camera away from your eyes. Camera is set to AV - and it works Regards
albertwang Posted October 3, 2006 Author Share #14 Posted October 3, 2006 In fact, focusing with this camera has been a extremely good snap. Very easy to shoot, focusing first then stopping down if necessary.

A quick Q., if I may: which Oly are you waiting for? And (assuming 2X) that 11-22 lens will be abour 22-45? That is a really good range, I agree. In Vancouver today, recovering from trip over... kl
