LX2/DLux-3, SD Card questions(s)

Hello:

For the LX2/DLux-3, is there a maximum capacity card this camera design will handle? I only shoot raw. Does the camera take advantage of any write-accelerated card features, or would a faster card be a waste of money for this camera?

Thanks.

I can't really answer you specific questions but I'm using a Transcend 8gb SDHC card and am very pleased with it. I only shoot RAW and the card is fast enough for it not to be an issue for me. It can hold about 350 RAW files when used with my D-Lux 3.

Hello:

Coincidentally, I just was trolling the Transcend site. They seem to have a bundle, featuring their SDHC card and a Compact Card Reader S5. It looks to have the SD slot on one end, and a standard USB2 male-port on the other end. They claim, data transfer rates up to 480Mb/s with this bundle. I'm running a MacBookPro, 2gb ram and Leopard.

Here's a link to the product, Welcome to Transcend Website - SDHC + Compact Card Reader S5

Any experience with this?

Thanks.

Sandisk has a rebate on SDHC Card Extreme cards.

e.g. 4G SDHC Extreme rebate for 3 pcs is $110,

Buydig.com sells them for $. 47.99

It comes to about $13 ea incl. shipping.

These also came with USB reader (each one).

This is the first time I'm using this forum. I'm looking to buy a Leica D-Lux 3 or V-Lux 1. I'm interested in using this to capture large photos and than on the computer cut out sections to use in creating art pieces. I have not used raw data and am still confused as to what this is. I would like to use the camara for close up shots and for taking quick shots. Can anyone recomend which camera would be my better choice.

Thank you, SK
