elansprint72 Posted June 1, 2008 Share #23 Posted June 1, 2008 At this moment, I'm still thinking Friday; although I could do Saturday morning, but that is tourist day.
andybarton Posted June 1, 2008 Author Share #24 Posted June 1, 2008 Can't do Friday - I have work to do. Could do Saturday though. Edit: Just taken a call from my folks... They are in my area on Saturday on their way home from a grand tour of Scotland. I won't be able to make it on Sat after all.
DTD Posted June 3, 2008 Share #25 Posted June 3, 2008 Got friends coming round I'm afraid… Still the thought of seeing Rolo in a head scarf and ear ring is too tempting. I like Round the Horne too.
cocker Posted June 3, 2008 Share #26 Posted June 3, 2008 Unfortunately one of my clients has asked me to work with them on the Friday and I can't get back from their location until Saturday so will miss this. By the way, do you know that the Gipsy in Rupert Bear is called Rolo! Have fun and watch the lallies on them omis!
Rolo Posted June 4, 2008 Share #27 Posted June 4, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Got friends coming round I'm afraid… Still the thought of seeing Rolo in a head scarf and ear ring is too tempting. Are you confusing me with the Amazing Rolo ? I'm known as the Incredible Rolo, a BSD !! Damsels rescued, nations conquered, all round good guy and .... I can empty a bar quicker than anyone I know. I'm getting the gist that my surprise appearance on Saturday would go unnoticed ?? Even my chauffeur has withdrawal symptoms ! This is no way to end a career. andybarton Posted June 4, 2008 Author Share #28 Posted June 4, 2008 I'd pay money to see Rolo wrestling a palomino in the river... I have been meaning to get up there ever since we moved to the NW, but never seem to be able to get round to it. Maybe next year...
Rolo Posted June 4, 2008 Share #29 Posted June 4, 2008 I'd pay money to see Rolo wrestling a palomino in the river... I've pulled a few old mares to the ground, but never a pal'o'mine. Distinct preference at the mo, but one never can tell the impact of a life sentence in the Pen. Rolo.
elansprint72 Posted June 6, 2008 Share #30 Posted June 6, 2008 Well, I was there today and certainly saw a side of life which I was previously unaware of! If you are arriving in Appleby from the Tebay exit of the M6, take the first yellow car park sign pointing left and park on the farm over the bridge; the ones at the top of the town are absolute chaos. stunsworth Posted June 8, 2008 Share #32 Posted June 8, 2008 Well, I was there today and certainly saw a side of life which I was previously unaware of I went this morning. Arrived about 10am and parking was easy - £5 on the local football pitch. Got a bit crowded from 11am onwards, but well worth the trip. No doubt I'll be inflicting my photos on you all before too long. I imaging all the gardens in Appleby will be having an extra dose of fertiliser before the end of the week. I've never seen so many horses.
