jliuphotography Posted May 5, 2008 Share #1 Posted May 5, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) First post here. I was wondering what people use for filters here? Size, strength, types, brands, etc. I shoot portaits, candids, and street with my m6ttl, summicron 35 asph, 50 rigid, and 90 asph. My choice of film for indoors is tmax 3200 and 400 trix or neopan depending what I am after. I was thinking about getting some ND filters so I could shoot my favorite film tmax 3200 outdoors. ND8? What are your guys experiences and tips? Thanks in advance.

DTD Posted May 5, 2008 Share #2 Posted May 5, 2008 I use a B+W skylight to protect the lens cos I'm a clumsy b****r. An ND or two would be essential in my opinion if you're a fast film fan.

I would only buy -8 now, as when you need assistance, it's needed in full strength. Rolo
Photoskeptic Posted May 5, 2008 Share #4 Posted May 5, 2008 I do mostly landscape and when I do use a filter (not that often) I use a yellow to bring out clouds. An orange would probably be better and I'd like to try one, but I'm lazy. Others use a red filter, but they can be overly dramatic for my tastes. peter_n Posted May 6, 2008 Share #5 Posted May 6, 2008 Your lens(es) will determine the size. I have pretty strong ND filters, usually around 3-4 stops. I use the B+W brand for all filters as they are of very high quality and easily obtained.
