budadossuburbios Posted April 10, 2008 Share #1 Posted April 10, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) This was the very first shot i took with my loved drop dead sexy Leica D-Lux3... Straight out o' the box ,card in,battery on and...bam!!!! I was a proud Leica owner. It felt soooo good! Ended up yesterday...i got robbed (i may have lost it but....have you ever heard of camera jumping out of a backpack? Houdini style? I didn't.), so i hope that the sick and repulsive muthafucka who is now waving my camera around is happy cause i'm pretty sad.

pastor_chuck Posted April 10, 2008 Share #4 Posted April 10, 2008 Check the deductable on your home owners. You likely have "replacement value" on your personal property and it is covered in the case of being stolen. You will most likely have to report it to the police, but then you should be able to purchase a replacement and have it paid for by your insurance company. A few things to remember: To get the money you will have to either 1) buy the replacement and submit the claim with the receipt to your insurance company or 2) get a quote from your camera store (on their letterhead) and submit the claim. This will be determined by your insurance company's policies and requirements. In both cases you will likely have to have a copy of the report you file with the police as proof that it was stolen. I had a camera stolen in Holland a few years ago right from under my nose. I felt so foolish and was totally aggravated with myself. But at least I didn't have to bear the replacement cost. I think I was only out of pocket about $50 U.S. pastor_chuck
