andybarton Posted April 8, 2008 Share #2 Posted April 8, 2008 If you want to know how much it would cost to replace, go to ffordes photographic : Main Index And check their used prices. Most things are there. If you policy is "new for old", that's more difficult with stuff that isn't made any more.
ericperlberg Posted April 10, 2008 Share #3 Posted April 10, 2008 You might want to read my dilemma posted in this same forum today (April 10) about my tri-elmar. The long and short of it is you might not actually be able to insure some of it (whatever is out of production).
Guest darkstar2004 Posted April 12, 2008 Share #4 Posted April 12, 2008 I would insure it for what I paid for it, or for replacement cost + shipping/insurance on the same NEW lens or body, or for used market price of a LNIB replacement, whichever is the greater cost. Also, be sure to keep an eye on prices of new gear and adjust your coverage accordingly. An example: My MP cost me $2495 American; it now sells for $4000 American + S&I. My MP & 3 lens kit has increased in new price by 30-35% since I bought it. Don't get left holding THAT bag!! JMHO...
