Anyone think of going? At the moment I'm thinking of going on Monday and Tuesday the 1st and 2nd of Sept.

I've been twice before, and for anyone with an interest in Photojournalism it's a fantastic festival with free exhibitions all around the towm.

Robert, the hotels I usually stay at in Perpignan seem to be fully booked. However there are still places at the Ibis near the centre of town..

Hotel Ibis Perpignan Centre: book your Ibis hotel in PERPIGNAN

I've just booked 2 nights arriving on the 31st of August. That'll give me at least a day and a half in Perpignan itself to see the exhibition.

As well as the exhibitions mentioned on the official web site there's also a fringe exhibition. Quite a few shops and restaurants have small exhibitions of photographs.

All in all it makes me aware of just how poor a photographer I am. There's a lot of talent on display.

I left Perpignan a couple of days ago after meeting Robert, and two friends from the LUG - Tarek and Nathan - in Perpignan. I had a great time and recommend the festival to anyone who has any interest in Photojournalism.

After seeing hundreds of photographs in a three day period I'm just about ready for a rest.

Interesting Steve. I will be in Perpignan en route to Beziers in early October. If I'd known about this I would have looked at going earlier!

I found Beziers a bit too busy after a week in the French countryside, but it's a nice part of the world.

Some time was spent in Castelnaudry - home of the Casolet - on the Canal du Midi. In fact it was the 'Fete du Casolet' while I was there, the town centre was given over to the product with tressel tables set up serving the stuff. Wine and beer was 2 Euros a glass, and I over indulged with both. Expect some shots next week!

If you go to Beziers and have a car, take some time to drive to the multiple canal locks they have just outside of town. From memory there are 9 one after the other.

Here's a shot of Robert's M8, Tarek's M8 and my M8 at one of the largest exhibitions - we were having a cold drink after an hour of looking at world class shots...

It was great to see everyone at Prepignan and I'll look forward to posting some images as soon as I have time - scary moment - thought I'd lost my image cards at a Cafe Nero in London  (that's an evil tasting expresso they sell..) but luckily they fell into the back of my bag !!! :o
