quarth Posted April 2, 2008 Share #1 Posted April 2, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am in the middle of some extended travels, and somehow the focusing ring on my 50/1.4 Lux (non ASPH) has broken and now turns freely (rendering the lens unfocusable). I'm not sure how it happened, but it's important to note that the glass is still flawless, so my hope is this isn't an extensive repair. I am currently in Ankara, Turkey, with plans to be in Istanbul in about a month. I will not be back to the US (home) for another few months. I've emailed Leica's repair department, and have yet to hear back, so I'm hoping someone here and point me in a good direction. The lens was purchased new just over a year ago, so the warranty is still in full effect. That said, I'd have no problem paying a fair price to get it fixed locally if it would give me my favorite lens back now instead of three months from now! Thoughts?? The only option should be: Send it to SOLMS and have it delivered back to (either) - your first class comfort hotel in ISTANBUL, - the proper Embassy, - your money changer: American Express. Leica distributor Panatel will most likely direct you to this person.
