Wim Blonk Posted March 30, 2008 Share #1 Posted March 30, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I would like to buy the Epson P 5000 image tank. On the Epson website it is indicated that the P 5000 is able to store and show RAW images on its screen. However, I was told by a friend that Leica DMR RAW images will be stored but can not be shown on the screen. This is only possible for the M8 when the combination RAW plus JPEG is used. in case this information is correct, which other image tank could solve my problem? rsolomon Posted March 30, 2008 Share #2 Posted March 30, 2008 i have not used this device ESP - 250GB Digital Photo Album and Multimedia Player: Wolverine Data but i do understand that it supports the DMR, if you go to this link and scroll towards the bottom you will see the supported cameras for RAW files. The R8 & R9 are listed, the DMR is not specifically listed . The Device also has built in card slots and does some other cool things. hope this helps
Wim Blonk Posted March 30, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted March 30, 2008 I am most pleased with the reference to the ESP-250Gb from Wolverine. It is also my understanding that it supports RAW files made with the DMR. I have written to Wolverine in order to ask confirmation. Anyhow, your hint has been most helpful! rsolomon Posted March 31, 2008 Share #4 Posted March 31, 2008 Wolverine does make some lower capacity devices as well, i find with these things the amount of storage does not drive the price -- its a qulaity screen that does. When on the phone with them get info on the screen resolution - depending on your usage this could be a an important factor.
