mlevy Posted March 28, 2008 Share #1 Â Posted March 28, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am trying to figure out the value of this APO-TELYT-R 2/280. The item number on the blank warranty card is 011-245. Warranty is still valid if i ever sell it but I would like to get some more info on this. It has the nice aluminum case and appears to be like new condition. I will post a few pics in the morning. It appears to be an older model maybe from the late 80's or 90's but this is just a guess

andybarton Posted March 28, 2008 Share #2 Â Posted March 28, 2008 Check what they go for on eBay and then sell it through these Buy & Sell section here. Â R stuff is dirt cheap these days, even for interesting lenses.

glenerrolrd Posted March 28, 2008 Share #4 Â Posted March 28, 2008 Ya i checked ebay and could only find one person selling it for 5k .. Mel This is most certainly the 2.8 280. I have one myself that I should sell and I did a little research a while back. Generally the go for $2500-3000 but the trend is down due to the lack of a digital R body . Most buyers want to use these on Canon DSLR and they work great as do most R telephotos on Canon bodies.
mlevy Posted March 28, 2008 Author Share #5 Â Posted March 28, 2008 i was reading about how you can use it on a canon body. I have a 40D i was thinking about using it on. this lens would be good for astrophotography of the sky. what adapter do you recommend and im assuming this is manual focus only which is ok with me..
