Advertisement Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 Hi andybarton, Take a look here Kodak Elite Color Film is no more. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
echorec Posted March 22, 2008 Share #2 Posted March 22, 2008 Hm, I have my first roll of that film in my camera right now. How would you compare it to the Portra 160 VC? Best,
martinb Posted March 22, 2008 Share #3 Posted March 22, 2008 I remember I shot one or two rolls way back. Colors were pretty nice, if I recall correctly. However these films almost seemed invisible on the market compared to Portra and Superia films.
adan Posted March 24, 2008 Share #4 Posted March 24, 2008 Hmm, (version 2). I don't remember ever seeing 200-speed UC (which is what the cassette says) in the US, just 100UC and 400UC. The whole UltraColor line was officially dropped over here about 4-6 months ago. Kodak here is basically selling the pro line 160/400 NC or VC - or the drugstore "Max" films, and nothing in between. Still some 100UC or 400UC in pro photo shops, though, which shows how fast it was(n't) selling. "Elite" in the states is (or was) Kodak's amateur slide film line - subsumed, I think, by the E100S/X/VS line of slide film. E200 slide film also bit the dust recently.
