jaredguess Posted March 21, 2008 Share #1 Â Posted March 21, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm taking a trip to Chicago in a few days and I was interested in renting some Leica M gear for the day. Does anyone know of any places in the Chicago area that offer this service? Thanks for the help.

gesper Posted March 21, 2008 Share #2 Â Posted March 21, 2008 Try Calumet. They are a Leica dealer and have a major rental program, but don't know what they have available in Leica specifically. They are likely your best bet.
pvsrv Posted March 22, 2008 Share #3 Â Posted March 22, 2008 I know that Helix Camera on Racine have an extensive rental business. However, I don't know if they rent out any Leica equipment. They are just west of the downtown area. Â Good luck and welcome to Chicago! Â Dan
Riccis Posted March 22, 2008 Share #4 Â Posted March 22, 2008 You should be able to rent M8s and the new Summarits from Calumet as part of Leica's new rental program that is being offered through its authorized dealers. Â Give them a call before you get to Chi-town. Â Have fun! Â Riccis
abrewer Posted March 22, 2008 Share #5  Posted March 22, 2008 While we're talking rental gear I want to put in a plug for RentGlass.com in Celebration, Florida.  My nephew and I are in Orlando area this week doing some IndyCar stuff.  Andy wanted to rent a piece of long glass and we called them; and despite the fact that they are primarily an online and ship long-distance concern, they arranged an in-person pickup from their offices in Celebration and we were on our way within a couple of hours.  Thank you Brian!!! at RentGlass.com!  Really nice folks with a reputable business--use them if you can:  RentGlass.com  No Leica gear (unfortunately), but you can always put the bug in their ear!   Thanks.  Allan
