These are about an 3cm long and live only in this spring-fed, high-salinity (salt content as high or higher than the sea water) creek in Death Valley. They endure the high salt content and high temperatures that the summer heat in Death Valley brings on. Well, this is the mating season, and here is a picture of a couple (male on the left) doing their thing. I guess I'm in danger of becoming known as a photographer of underwater animal reproduction. Anyway, that sounds better than an underwater pornographer. :D
