GINZA Posted March 18, 2008 Share #1 Posted March 18, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, this is my first post. I have experience of Leica 35mm film cameras but not this brand of digital. While I am deciding on an M8, I would appreciate comments on following: I have seen some impressive images from a V-Lux 1 and was wondering how this compares with the Canon G9 bearing in mind both have same sensor type but G9 is about half the money. Any info on direct comparative experience or V-Lux 1 in general would be very helpful. Thanks everyone for a very informative forum.
Advertisement Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Hi GINZA, Take a look here V-LUX 1 or G9. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
sdommin Posted March 18, 2008 Share #2 Posted March 18, 2008 I had both at one time, but I sent the V-Lux1 back. It's a nice enough camera, but the lens wasn't as sharp and crisp as the G9. I can't stand the trend these days of super 12x zoom lenses that cover every focal length, but aren't really good at any of them. I didn't make any direct comparisons of the two, but I do recall that CA is much lower in the G9.
