albertwang Posted September 8, 2006 Share #1 Posted September 8, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hard to believe that the Cannonauts at dpreview just awarded the Panny FZ50 Detail Rating (out of 10) Build quality 9.0 Ergonomics & handling 9.0 Features 9.0 Image quality 8.0 Optics 8.5 (huh, it's a Leica, come on it gotta kick Cannonbutt!) Performance (speed) 8.0 Value 7.5 (what? How did too many nauts cause the average to be lower than the separate elements?) Highly Recommended (just) a fairly decent score??? (highly recommended is not bad for the dprevies) Hmm... L1 review will be interesting over there. I wonder if they will even bother to review it? Advertisement Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Hi albertwang, Take a look here dpreview actually liked the Panny FZ50?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jamie Roberts Posted September 10, 2006 Share #2 Posted September 10, 2006 Um, not hard to believe at all. Dpreview, for what it's worth, has always liked the Panasonic / Leica superzooms, from the first 2MP version (I even have one!). They are amazing, especially optically, though pretty noisy at times. But honestly--are you actually saying Canon doesn't make a good digicam? Have you ever used a G6--rangefinder?
albertwang Posted September 10, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted September 10, 2006 actually I tried out the G6... it looked too boxy and cramped on the controls. Ironically the Pro 1 turned out better in terms of handling I think... But FZ series is very lovely and its handling just rite...
