spylaw4 Posted March 14, 2008 Share #1 Posted March 14, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just logged onto Lightroom to be told that ver 1.4 has been released. Contains update to recognise files from some new(er) cameras, and probably more importantly improves compatibility for printing with Mac OS 10.5 Leopard. Exactly what the latter involves I am not yet sure, doubtless someone here with Leopard (I'm still using Tiger) and LR will let us all know.

Guest WPalank Posted March 14, 2008 Share #2 Posted March 14, 2008 Also, Camera RAW 4.4 for CS3 (it will not work in CS2 or earlier). The Adobe Updater has not caught up as of the time of my writing this reply, so you have to go directly to this page for the download: Adobe - Latest Product Updates

Guest WPalank Posted March 14, 2008 Share #4 Posted March 14, 2008 The new version of the RAW converter has a new profile for the M8. Steve, If you don't mind my asking, where did you get that info? Cheers,
stunsworth Posted March 14, 2008 Share #5 Posted March 14, 2008 There's a tab on the converter "Camera Calibration". That'll be showing ACR 3.6. Hit the downward facing arrow and you'll see that there's a new entry of ACR 4.4.
robsteve Posted March 14, 2008 Share #6 Posted March 14, 2008 Does anybody notice any difference with the 4.4 profile? I am not on a great laptop screen and I can't see anything. If you change profiles in Lightroom, the levels of the colour histogram change slightly, but more like a global slightly less exposure, rather than a fine tuning of the colours. stunsworth Posted March 14, 2008 Share #8 Posted March 14, 2008 Hi Robert, the read.me says... "Previous camera profiles identified in the Calibrate panel may have displayed poor results at extreme ends of the temperature and tint ranges." So it sounds as if it's unlikely to be something that greatly affects 'normal' images.
Guest WPalank Posted March 14, 2008 Share #9 Posted March 14, 2008 Also from the "Read Me": "Images edited in Camera Raw or Lightroom with earlier profiles will retain the earlier profile value and visual appearance."
stunsworth Posted March 14, 2008 Share #10 Posted March 14, 2008 Yes, even if you make 4.4 the default profile, older images that have already been opened with 3.6 still use 3.6. Of course this can be changed manually to 4.4.
