tim power Posted June 2, 2008 Share #21 Posted June 2, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) talking of walking, what about a street category for the forum? its what all this Leica blather is about, isn't it? Stalk the moment, find its range, then Pow and all that. But seriously, why not? Other is too open-ended - in a good way - and portraits aren't street, is they Imants? stunsworth Posted June 2, 2008 Share #22 Posted June 2, 2008 Tim, I've always assumed that's part of what the 'people' category is for. In general I'm not personally disposed to a great number of forums and sub-forums, if you're not careful you end up with something like Rangefinder Forum. Once thing I would suggest is to change the M8 forum's name to 'Digital rangefinder' or 'Digital M' to avoid confusion when the M9 or DCL is announced. Also a 'Digital SLR' forum when the R10 is released.
dhsimmonds Posted June 3, 2008 Share #23 Posted June 3, 2008 I have never had any objection to others showing what my basic image can produce in more experienced hands. In most cases members of this forum who have bothered have not only posted their revised image but then given details of what they did in PS to get it to "their" finished image. Very constructive and educational so that I can then try to do the same on a full sized PS or tiff image and have frequently done so. I remember on one occasion seeing a totally different crop to the picture and which I would never have dreamed of doing. More please!
