square_one Posted March 14, 2008 Share #2 Posted March 14, 2008 roguewave, you must be a sailor. Biscayne Bay ought to be a terrific venue if the breeze hangs around. That gorgeous white hull under the boat lift ... wonder who is building the Star hulls for 08? Hard to believe that hull is exactly the conformation it was back in 1911 ... god, 97 years ago!! Proves you do it right the first time you don’t need to touch it (excepting modern materials of course). Couldn’t resist pulling out this old shot of Starboat 4710 on Lake Erie, the boat I crewed back in 70-71. The experience was incredible – got me head-over-heels into all kinds of one-designs over the following years. Lets see some good 08 action! roguewave Posted March 16, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted March 16, 2008 Bruce, lovely shot. Our club, the Coral Reef Yacht Club just finished the Baccardi Cup, an annual must for Stars & will host the Star Worlds in April. Great boats & lots of action. I never could keep them down when I was young, but they where the best & most exciting rides I ever had on a dinghy.
