Sensia............

On the old Leica Forum a lot of professional photographers suggested that I bought myself a 60mm Macro-Elmarit to photograph close-up pictures (!) They also suggested to take photographs on film and I have now dusted off my old Leica-R cameras and started to shoot flower pictures on Fujichrome Sensia diapositive film - and I must admit that film makes better results than the digital sensors can make (!) What do you think (?)

Leica R4, Leitz 60mm Macro-Elmarit, Fujichrome 100 ISO, exposure not recorded.

The color is lovely, its got that Leica tastes look to it. Sensia was one of my favourite film;)

I have shot alot of macro images in digital, but when I switched back to film, the result on the slides are so beautiful that makes me keep falling inlove in shooting film again and again:D

Hi svenning,

I share your opinion that slides offer a special brilliance especially when being projected. However, the presentation on the digital medium is difficult. Scans of slides require some attention and lots of sharpening.

I tried to somehow 'improve' your original by contrast and unsharp mask editing. Hope this is alright for you.

However, my results still not show the real potential. I assume your original scan sharpness might be improvable. Have your tried to set the focus point manually?

Best regards

Svenning,

I agree with you.

I use a R 6.2, and I still think that, at the moment, a sophisticated mechanical camera, together with good lenses and Velvia 100 or 50, gives a combination which results are difficult to improve.

You have to try these films :-)

Marc
