srichmond Posted March 2, 2008 Share #1 Posted March 2, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was out and about today with my M6 Classic. It was pretty cold and I was using my bicycle, and was going over rough ground. I noticed that the M6's light meter suddently stopped working. I don't think it was the battery - I removed it, placed it back. Nothing. About an hour later, it suddenly starting working again. Anyone got any ideas? It's a little worrying. Advertisement Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Hi srichmond, Take a look here M6 light meter. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
nobbylon Posted March 2, 2008 Share #2 Posted March 2, 2008 Try a fresh battery before anything else. Sounds like an old battery got cold maybe? Or else make sure the battery contact in the cam body is good, ie not a lose fit.
delft Posted March 2, 2008 Share #3 Posted March 2, 2008 Well, if it happened to me, i now have learned the hard way to check if my lenscap is off and if i haven't stopped my lens down too far. The meters of the 1st classics play dead if they don't get enough light. Dirk
srichmond Posted March 3, 2008 Author Share #4 Posted March 3, 2008 I think it was the battery getting too cold - I suspect it's quite old. There was a lot of light, and I don't use a lens cap :-) Lesson learned. I'm going to get a new battery.
mym6is12 Posted March 3, 2008 Share #5 Posted March 3, 2008 I've had that happen a few times - or the reading goes way off what's expected. Alkaline batteries are the worst, so best to stick to Silver oxide or Lithium.
