albert Posted February 28, 2008 Share #1 Posted February 28, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Bought D-Lux 3 one year ago through Amazon.com......the only black one I could find. Sensor gone bad? Stripes and colors on images. My local dealer, National Camera Exchange said: send it direct to Leica, much faster. Any info much appreciated: Al

blau4666 Posted February 29, 2008 Share #4 Posted February 29, 2008 I just sent mine into Allendale this week. Called them today and was told a letter will be sent regarding the repair cost. I told them it was less than one year old, but they told me to wait for the technician's assessment. I hope I won't have to pay. I already paid for the upgrade to Digilux-3 when my Digilux-2 sensor failed last year. If I have to pay for the sensor repair for the D-LUX3, it will be my last Leica. They definitely have a quality control problem. This looks like it may go the way of Digilux-2.
marknorton Posted February 29, 2008 Share #5 Posted February 29, 2008 If I have to pay for the sensor repair for the D-LUX3, it will be my last Leica. They definitely have a quality control problem. Except of course, the 3 cameras you mention are made by Panasonic and the girls in (my guess) China just stick this red dot thing on the front of some of them. If you decide you don't like Leica P&S cameras, you're really saying you don't like Panasonic ones either.
