Just something to consider in making your points here, please. Thanks. Allan

franklinh Posted September 7, 2006 Share #22 Posted September 7, 2006 This thread was brought to the attention to the moderators, so at least one person thought it might be getting a bit warm in here. Amen, to Allen's comment. It's still summer here in Seattle, maybe a sip of ice tea to cool us off as we continue the discussion.
leicamann Posted September 7, 2006 Author Share #23 Posted September 7, 2006 Allan and Frank ( we are up here your sister city Vancouver B.C) still very warm and extremely dry, the maples in many places are just drying up. Listen folks..the thread was a simple ode to someone I grew and learned to respect and appreciate his passion. Wether we agree with his methods or not , his death is a great loss, a tragedy and must be absolutely devastating to his wife and family. I was totally saddened and shocked by his death when I read the email from a friend, I quickly went to the BBC webpage, and by gosh it was true...I still can't believe it..it was so unreal...it still is.... I agree that Steve would clearly and gladly debate you, but he is gone now..a moment of prayer and silence would be appreciated. Lets not get side tracked with mud slinging and character attacks please. Thank you all for sharing your thoughts and feelings. Regards, Leicamann

square_one Posted September 7, 2006 Share #25 Posted September 7, 2006 Moderators - I'm sorry for the part I played in this. Looking back over my remarks, I was bit flip. The hand Steve Irwin lent to the wild life of this world, particularly Australia's, was never in question. I didn't make that clear enough at this important and sad moment. Snakes, and then I'll shut up for good. Generations of humans have killed these valuable creatures for the fun of it, or because they were 'evil'. Thanks to one man, kids these days now appreciate them rather than skewer them (and maybe get bitten if they tease). Grownups are even changing their ways. This in itself is huge, Steve Irwin. Thanks, Allen and Frank, for your patience. Bruce
