graeme_clarke Posted February 20, 2008 Share #1  Posted February 20, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I know an adapter for M lenses to R bodies is available. I have a WATE and I wondered if anyone has experience of using this lens with the DMR, or with an R body. The 16mm end equates to a 21mm field of view on the DMR so it seems a useful idea to pursue, even though the ROM contacts are non-existent.  Your thoughts would be welcome  Graeme

stunsworth Posted February 20, 2008 Share #2 Â Posted February 20, 2008 Almost useless, there would be no infinity focus.
robsteve Posted February 20, 2008 Share #3 Â Posted February 20, 2008 Graeme: Â The current M lenses will not work on the R bodies. The M to R adapter was designed for M lenses that were used with bellows or the Visoflex.
graeme_clarke Posted February 20, 2008 Author Share #4 Â Posted February 20, 2008 Steve, Rob, Â Thanks - that's knocked that idea on the head then. Â All best wishes, Graeme
adan Posted February 21, 2008 Share #5 Â Posted February 21, 2008 Well, it could be used as an extreme macro lens with zooming capability - Leica, Nikon and Olympus used to sell 18 and 20mm lenses specifically designed for bellows use because the short focal lengths gave huge magnifications for a given bellows extension.
