troyfreund Posted February 5, 2008 Share #1 Â Posted February 5, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) OK, I've got two DMRs, two R8s, both DMRs running firmware 1.3. Was getting ready for a shoot this morning and went to clean my chip on each rig. Cleaned the chips, put on a 60mm macro (a ROMmed 3-cam) and took a pic of my kitchen wall. I imported the files, they looked OK, then I leveled them and one looked way different than the other. Any idea what is the difference here? Both had same ISO, file format, WB and exposure. What do you think? Troy
Advertisement Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Hi troyfreund, Take a look here DMR--any thoughts on these files?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stunsworth Posted February 5, 2008 Share #2 Â Posted February 5, 2008 "Way different" doesn't give us much to go on. What areas were different? Colour, sharpness, exposure?

robsteve Posted February 5, 2008 Share #4 Â Posted February 5, 2008 Troy: Â It is not clear what is what since you have four pictures posted. I don't quite understand what you mean by leveled. Â One suggestion is that you may want to check the exif. Sometimes the DMR doesn't read the ROM when you change lenses and it may have applied some rom correction to the image using the wrong ROM info. Your posted images didn't have any exif info, so you might have to look at the original files.
rsolomon Posted February 5, 2008 Share #5 Â Posted February 5, 2008 Troy, i agree with Rob, not sure what we are looking at in your 4 pics.
robert_parker Posted February 5, 2008 Share #6  Posted February 5, 2008 Troy  At the moment it's not clear which rig took which set of pics - could you advise ?
troyfreund Posted February 5, 2008 Author Share #7 Â Posted February 5, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sorry for the confusion, guys. The two brownish-yellowish images are my kitchen wall. The strangely colored image and the fairly straight B+W color pic are the same images, after I've applied "Auto Levels" in PS-CS3. Does that help? I thought the file names would show up with the images, so you could match captured image to "auto-leveled" image. Hope that helps. robsteve Posted February 6, 2008 Share #8 Â Posted February 6, 2008 Troy: Â Did you check the exif on both images to confirm everything was the same?
troyfreund Posted February 6, 2008 Author Share #9 Â Posted February 6, 2008 OK, I checked the EXIF data, and interestingly enough, the colored, leveled pic did record the lens information (60mm) and the white image did not record the lens information. robsteve Posted February 6, 2008 Share #10 Â Posted February 6, 2008 OK, I checked the EXIF data, and interestingly enough, the colored, leveled pic did record the lens information (60mm) and the white image did not record the lens information. Â Then the difference is the one with the ROM working corrected for some vignetting.
