StS Posted February 3, 2008 Share #1 Posted February 3, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dear all, since I just found loads of old negatives in my parent's cellar (and have busloads of old negatives myself), I'm thinking (again) about getting a film scanner. Now I don't plan to scan it all due to lack of time, I would rather prefer to scan a selection of the best, hence a manual loading scanner should be sufficient. This model seems to be new on the market, is quite inexpensive (the 5000 dpi seem to be marketing rather) and comes with Silverfast Ai: Quatographic Technology GmbH Has anyone of you tried this film scanner yet? Kind regards Stefan
Advertisement Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Hi StS, Take a look here Quato Intelliscan 5000 - has anyone tried this film scanner?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
rob_x2004 Posted February 3, 2008 Share #2 Posted February 3, 2008 I would look it up at the silverfast site and see if it supported beyond XP and OSX. It might be twain USB and if you intend upgrading your computer or operating system it might be a nuisance. Not a lot of info at link, I would check up on the neg carriers too. Nikons are six frame feeds I think.
