hector_jorge Posted January 28, 2008 Share #1 Posted January 28, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I´m flying to Berlin next May, and I would like to know where are the best places there to see-buy Leica cameras or accesories. Many thanks for the advise.
Advertisement Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Hi hector_jorge, Take a look here Asking for Leica shops in Berlin. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
leob Posted January 28, 2008 Share #2 Posted January 28, 2008 very nice that you visit berlin, you should check MEISTER CAMERA Berlin: Meister Camera (there is an english-version of the page) for used stuff you can also check wüstefeld their prices on used stuff are not cheap, but with a little luck you can get some discount, they got 2 stores in berlin one at the Grolmanstraße 36, 10623 Berlin wich is right at the kurfürstendamm at the zoo, and the other one is right around the corner from my home in the Schloßstraße 96, 12163 Berlin, they also got a website, Wstefeld hat's - Weltmarkt der Fotografie if you need exotic film try fotoimpex near the alexanderplatz, their prices are good, they speak german, english and french far better than me, wich is not quite hard Fotoimpex Berlin | alles für die analoge Fotografie if you need to get film developed, trust your valuable films to pixelgrain right at the alexanderplatz, the turnaroundtime is 120 minutes, they do everything, from e-6 over c-41 to classic black&white and also got a large stock of film and are also fluent in many languages Labor Pixel Grain : Home their exact location is Rosenstraße 16 | 17 10178 Berlin-Mitte. (or you can drop your film at pps, they are right at the alexanderplatz, too but i never used their service till now, but friends of mine only say good things them). Certainly there are more good adresses to visit in berlin for shopping leica stuff, but i don´t know them yet. have a nice trip and feel free to contact me for further questioning
Iron Flatline Posted January 28, 2008 Share #3 Posted January 28, 2008 Wuestefeld no longer carries Leica, they've been stripped of it. The Meister Leica Store is very good, has highly knowledgable people, and is fun to spend time in - beware though, it's hard to leave without spending a lot of money. hector_jorge Posted January 29, 2008 Author Share #4 Posted January 29, 2008 Many thanks for the advise. I will be in NH Grolmanstrasse Hotel, very near the two shops you mentioned, so I will visit both shops. I usually travel with a roll film camera and a digital one.The digital is a DLux 3 and the roll film camera can be either an R4 or a R6.2 with a 28mm. lens. My beloved M6 will remain this time at home. I never make prints during my trips because they are very heavy to carry if I have lots of them, so I only order CD´s from my negatives, making the prints in Buenos Aires after my holidays. Many thanks again.
leicapages Posted January 30, 2008 Share #5 Posted January 30, 2008 Was at Leica shop Berlin (MEISTER CAMERA Berlin: Home) in mid last year. Nice shop, new Leica shop concept, but can't say the (young) people there were really that friendly or even helpful.
peterv Posted January 31, 2008 Share #6 Posted January 31, 2008 Was at Leica shop Berlin (MEISTER CAMERA Berlin: Home) in mid last year. Nice shop, new Leica shop concept, but can't say the (young) people there were really that friendly or even helpful. Maybe they had a bad day... I was there last summer, and the young man helping me was very relaxed showing me whatever item I wanted to see, taking his time and very polite. To me it was a nice experience to visit Leica Berlin. Very nicely designed shop BTW. Peter
