Advertisement Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Hi rougewave, Take a look here M3's 1st image. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
robsteve Posted January 24, 2008 Share #2 Posted January 24, 2008 You didn't take any images on the way to the gallery/musuem? I like the toning/treatment of the image.
roguewave Posted January 24, 2008 Share #3 Posted January 24, 2008 No chance. Put the film in, had a brisk walk from 10th to 17th St in FREEZING weather. I thought the shutter wouldn't work. By the time my hands unfrozz and I could focus the ring, click, the deed was done. Thanks for the comments. I'm really a newbie again & I like it. cocker Posted January 24, 2008 Share #5 Posted January 24, 2008 As the men have said Ben - very promising start. I like the composition, toning and the discrete show of sprockets:)!
Photoskeptic Posted January 24, 2008 Share #6 Posted January 24, 2008 Like Keith said, a good start. Congrats, Ben. IMO, some judicious cropping would provide an immensely better image.
elansprint72 Posted January 24, 2008 Share #7 Posted January 24, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ben, "New M3": they are making M3's again? Oy, I didn't know that. You have produced a superb photo there, look forward to seeing some more.
roguewave Posted January 25, 2008 Share #8 Posted January 25, 2008 Rob, Vic, Keith, john & Peter thanks for the kind words. I'm struggling, but at least I'm on the bike & peddling once again.
Kent10D Posted January 25, 2008 Share #9 Posted January 25, 2008 Thanks for that Ben. Great mood. With all the new stuff being released ahead of PMA I've been looking at hundreds and hundreds of nothing but digital images for a couple of days, so the lovely film patina in your shot came as a breath of fresh air. Nice toning too. Long live film (in peaceful coexistence with digital)! Looking forward to seeing more.
lemalk Posted January 25, 2008 Share #10 Posted January 25, 2008 Hey Ben - I'm glad you're enjoying the RF. I just got my first RF this week, so it's so great to see you're enjoying the experience as much as I am. All the best.
think Posted January 25, 2008 Share #11 Posted January 25, 2008 Just curious why your opening post lists your username as rougewave and the avatar is smaller than in your first reply where your name is roguewave and the avatar is full size. System glitch or a another problem? Just thought I'd ask/let you know. Otherwise it's a nice opening shot and, like Rob, I find the toning of the shot appealing. roguewave Posted January 25, 2008 Share #12 Posted January 25, 2008 Bob, when filling out the user form to join the forum, I was initially unable to register as roguewave, probably because of a conflict with a password or some other digital domain issue. I logged on as rougewave, as a pun for my wife. Eventually, it dawned in my thick molasses of a brain, that all it required is to change the password, which I finally did and was able to register as roguewave. However, as we are creatures of habit, it is predictable that we will fall off the wagon and by rote, use the other user name from time to time. As I now qualify for senior citizen discounts from AARP, I give myself an increasingly widening berth to forget & forgive all the stupid stuff I do all the time.
