A few... somethings ago I wrote that I was having problems with my E-330 (Leica Digilux 3 equivalent)

First, the sensor developed a single pixel black vertical line thru the entire frame at all settings. I sent the camera in and they changed the rear LCD, which was nice because the LCD was scratched, but it still left the sensor problem. So, I sent it back in. They replaced the sensor but the new sensor had lots and lots of banding. So, I sent the camera in again and they sent me a "new" replacement, which was a refurb with cosmetic issues.

 

Two weeks ago I sent the camera in again. Received a phone call from a very nice tech at Leica on Monday that said they had no more E-330s, so they were exchanging the camera for a new E-510.

 

Yaay. Just got it today.

 

So, for everyone who says Leica tech support and service has issues with repairs and exchanges, it isn't just Leica. Since the sensor and electronics are the same, in general, as the Digilux 3 and DMC-L1, I thought I'd mention the problems in this forum.
