timpppa Posted January 21, 2008 Share #1 Posted January 21, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi! Does anybody know where I could find an adapter from Leica M3 body flash connector to a standard PC-sync connector? I definately would try my M3 in the studio... Advertisement Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Hi timpppa, Take a look here Leica M3 flash sync connector. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
timpppa Posted January 21, 2008 Author Share #2 Posted January 21, 2008 Got one from ebay, costs 15 euros including shipping. Not bad!? I think sync speed is 1/50 on these older M3's? -- Regards, Timo Leppiniemi
doubice Posted January 22, 2008 Share #3 Posted January 22, 2008 I think sync speed is 1/50 on these older M3's? Correct. As a matter of fact all M1, M2, M3, M4, M5, M6, M7, MP and all variants of these bodies have 1/50s synch speed. Best, Jan

Can you one explain why the sync speed is so "slow"? I understand it on the older M's, but in M6 & M7? Is there a technical issue in the curtain or what? -- Regards, Timo Leppiniemi
giordano Posted January 22, 2008 Share #5 Posted January 22, 2008 Can you one explain why the sync speed is so "slow"? I understand it on the older M's, butin M6 & M7? Is there a technical issue in the curtain or what? In effect it's the same shutter on all M models; refinements and production economies apart, the only significant changes are the geared (?) dial on the M6TTL and electronic timing on the M7.
