dhoun Posted January 21, 2008 Share #1 Posted January 21, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, Don't know if anyone else has this kind of problem. My D-Lux 3 is two months old. Lately it has begun to emit a constant (very low) weird gurgling/grinding type of sound from somewhere inside the body when it is switched on. It is worrying me. Any suggestions as to what the problem (if it is a problem) might be? Thanks.
Advertisement Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Hi dhoun, Take a look here Weird noise from D-Lux 3. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
nhmitchell Posted January 21, 2008 Share #2 Posted January 21, 2008 Could very well be the OIS system. If you have it set on OIS 1, it's on all the time. Try changing it to OIS 2 or better yet, turn it off, and see if the noise goes away. This may not fix the problem, but at least you'll know what is causing it. Good luck. dhoun Posted January 21, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted January 21, 2008 Thanks for your reply - I have since discovered that the only time the noise ceases is when the camera is set to full automatic mode or when set to manual focus. So, it seems like it must have something to do with the autofocus function ...
