Advertisement Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Hi Gabriel66, Take a look here Super Elmar 15/3,5 on DMR. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted January 21, 2008 Share #2 Â Posted January 21, 2008 It will act like a 20mm and the crop will remove the extremes of any distortion. Â I use a 19 Elmarit on my DMR a lot and it's a great lens.
Guest tummydoc Posted January 21, 2008 Share #3 Â Posted January 21, 2008 It is an excellent lens, attested-to as well by all those who used the optically-identical version made for the Contax SLR range. It was one of the better bought-in lenses Leica supplied for the R range.
pascal_meheut Posted January 21, 2008 Share #4 Â Posted January 21, 2008 I had one and it works fine on the DMR. Of course, better at 5.6 or 8 in the corners than wide-open. Here is an example with it, DMR 100 ISO, 1/250 f/8. Full image and 100% crops.
Gabriel66 Posted January 22, 2008 Author Share #5 Â Posted January 22, 2008 Have you note some differences to 19 mm? Thanks Gabriele Gabriele Caproni Photography
pascal_meheut Posted January 22, 2008 Share #6 Â Posted January 22, 2008 Have you note some differences to 19 mm? Â Except from the view angle, the 19mm (last version) has more contrast and sharpness but also more optical aberrations in the corners, at least till f/8. It is one of the rare lenses which is perfect on film but not on the DMR (I tried 2 or 3 of them). Â If you want the best of both world, you need to go to the 15mm/2.8 ASPH but this is not the same price.
leicapages Posted January 24, 2008 Share #7 Â Posted January 24, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Pascal, I am somewhat confused: which one is one of the rare lenses better suited for film than for digital? The Super-Elmar-R 15/3.5 or the Elmarit-R 19/2.8 ?
pascal_meheut Posted January 24, 2008 Share #8 Â Posted January 24, 2008 The 19mm/2.8 current version.
