uffant24 Posted January 14, 2008 Share #1 Posted January 14, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Everyone, I'm trying to find some answers for my sister who is in Nicaragua and her M6 has started playing up - she has no access to any decent photo stores where they could help her ... apparently, the problem is that the film stops transporting after the first 10 exposures .... she says it's 'turning empty' after the first 10 exposures .... I don't know how many times she has tried it with a new roll of film ... she has had the camera for about 5 years and never had any issues so I assume she knows how to properly load a film into the camera ... anybody have any ideas? thank you. Advertisement Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Hi uffant24, Take a look here film in M6 stops transporting. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
tobey bilek Posted January 18, 2008 Share #2 Posted January 18, 2008 Never heard of this problem. E-mail Sherry at Sherry Krauter.com or Don at DAG camera repair. In the mean time, try to push the rewind lever , rewind one turn, put the lever vertical again, shoot two frames with a lens cap on, and see if it will transport film. stunsworth Posted January 18, 2008 Share #3 Posted January 18, 2008 Hi Felix, does she mean that the advance lever stops working - it feels as if she's reached the end of the film? If so it's likely that the problem has been caused by some washers under the rewind crank jamming and/or becoming corroded. I had the same problem, others have had it too. The good news is that it's a simple and inexpensive repair. Alternatively she can attempt to correct the problem herself. There is a web page that was created by Kyle Cassidy of the LUG detailing what needs to be done, though I don't have access to that page at the moment. If she does attempt to repair it herself then she should make sure that she keeps all of the washers in the correct order - there are a surprising number of them.
